From selection to your replacement project
1. Review your openings
Share photos, approximate dimensions, and your goals. For installation projects, we review the existing opening, surrounding finishes, and any related work.
2. Confirm products and scope
We compare configurations and finishes, verify ordering dimensions, and define the installation method and repairs included in your quote.
3. Coordinate the order and work
We manage purchasing and lead-time communication, then confirm receiving arrangements and the sequence for installation and finish work.
Installation that considers the whole opening
Door and window replacement involves the surrounding wall, water management, trim, and finishes as well as the product itself. Our installation scope addresses the conditions we review and the work agreed for your home.
Choose the Installation Approach Deliberately
An insert replacement preserves more existing trim and cladding but depends on the condition and geometry of the existing frame. A full-frame replacement removes the unit to the rough opening, allowing better access to framing, insulation, sill preparation, flashing, and opening dimensions.
The right method depends on water history, frame condition, desired glass area, exterior cladding, interior trim, product type, and project goals. Full-frame work is often especially valuable when siding is also being replaced.
Flashing and the Rough Opening
A durable opening needs a planned path for incidental water. Sill preparation, pan flashing, jamb and head integration, weather-resistive barrier laps, head flashing, sealants, and exterior trim must work with the window or door manufacturer and the wall assembly.
Openings also need proper shimming, fastening, insulation, and allowances for movement. Foam and caulk alone do not correct poor water management or an out-of-square opening.
Doors Require Structural and Finish Coordination
Changing from a window to a door, widening an opening, installing a large slider, or adding French doors may require a new header, framing, engineering, exterior landing, steps, guards, electrical relocation, siding repairs, and interior flooring transitions. Door swing, threshold height, drainage, overhangs, and hardware all affect everyday use.
- Product dimensions and performance selected before rough work
- Opening, sill, framing, flashing, insulation, and fastening details
- Exterior cladding and trim integrated with the drainage plane
- Interior jamb extensions, casing, drywall, flooring, and paint restoration
- Screens, hardware, locks, glass, and final operation checked at completion
Coordinate Replacement with the Larger Exterior
When many openings, siding, trim, or decks are changing, a coordinated exterior scope usually produces cleaner transitions and fewer repeated mobilizations. Prestige plans sequence and finish responsibility so window and door work does not leave unresolved cladding or interior repairs.

Window and Door Replacement Questions
Is full-frame replacement always better?
Not always. It offers greater access to the opening, but a well-qualified insert installation can be appropriate when the existing frame and water-management conditions are sound.
Can a window be changed to a door?
Often, but the wall structure, utilities, exterior landing, stairs, drainage, siding, interior finishes, and permits must be addressed.
Should windows be ordered before openings are verified?
No. Product decisions can begin early, but exact ordering dimensions and installation method should be confirmed by the responsible installer.
